Hi there and welcome to my new blog. This blog will be primarily about Bible study, various artistic stuff, local Black Hills items, and whatever else is on my mind. I’m an avid reader, and I’ll post reviews (good or bad) about whatever I’m currently reading.
The most important thing about me is that I’m a follower of Jesus. I’ll be posting my Bible study notes from time to time and would love to have imput from brothers and sisters. There are so many layers of meaning in the Bible, and everyone has something unique, some special insight, some personal experience to contribute.
I’ve been making pottery, primarily on the potter’s wheel, for about fifteen years, so I’ll talk about that, give some technical tips and projects for adults and kids, and post some photos. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of handbuilding because I’ve started a part-time job as a pottery/art teacher, mostly for children, and handbuilding just works better in that atmosphere–besides, it’s more fun.
I’m also responsible for teaching general art classes, so when I come up with a particularly fun kids’ project, I’ll share it with you so you can try it with your kids. Actually, a lot of the kid projects are great jumping off points for more mature artists, so even if you don’t have kiddies to amuse, you might enjoy trying the projects yourself.
Recently I’ve been doing some charcoal portraits and acrylic paintings, plus experimenting with watercolor and pastels, so that may turn up in a post or two as well. This is a fairly new endeavor for me, so still pretty exciting.

Hi Cindy in SD! Glad I found your blog. I love your pottery, it’s wonderful. My husband and I just moved from SD, Pierre actually. We just moved back to ND, my hometown actually, but we ended up here after trying to move to Rapid! We love the Hills, so we put a contract on a house in the valley that we thought we be in for years. Well, that fell through, so, we placed a contract on another house, in the hold historic district of Rapid, and… you guessed it, that fell through too. And keep in mind, my husband and I have some rentals, so we’ve purchased tons of houses with no glitches whatsoever. So with no place to live, we ended up putting everything in storage and staying with my parents. Well, my husband got a job offer up here, totally out of the blue! So instead of moving to the Hills, we now live in the plains. Yah is an amazing G-d, I can’t believe the journey He’s put us on. So anyway, glad I found your blog, it’s a great bible study tool.

Hi, Kate
Thanks for stopping by.
And for the kind words. It’s funny how God sometimes nudges us this way or that, rather insistantly, and other times He allows us to do whatever bone-headed thing we’ve got our heart set on. Maybe the difference is in truly wanting His guidance and knowing we’d do what He suggests if we could only figure it out.
I’m so glad that you found my site, and I’ve enjoyed looking through yours as well. I’m listening to your music just now–it’s very melodic and soothing, and it also keeps out the TV noise.
I tried to post a comment, but I’m not sure whether I succeeded. I had to sign up for an account and then the message I’d typed disappeared, but there was a note saying it had been posted. So, maybe so. If not, I’ll repost.
God’s Strength,
Cindy
